About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Engineer to lead inspection, testing, and quality control processes at our manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune. In this role, you will ensure our precision valve components—including balls, shafts, stems, bonnets, and flanges—consistently meet stringent oil and gas industry quality standards and zero-defect benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute incoming, in-process, and final inspection of precision-machined valve components according to engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Utilize advanced measuring instruments, gauges, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to verify dimensional accuracy and geometric tolerances (GD&T).
  • Review and validate Material Test Certificates (MTC), heat treatment charts, and non-destructive examination (NDE/NDT) reports.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) for non-conformities identified during production or testing.
  • Coordinate with production and machining teams to maintain zero-defect standards and minimize scrap and rework.
  • Ensure compliance with international quality management systems, including ISO 9001 and API standards.
  • Maintain thorough inspection records, quality documentation, and calibration registers for all measuring equipment.
  • Support customer audits, third-party inspections (TPI), and factory acceptance testing (FAT).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in quality assurance or quality control within precision machining, valve manufacturing, or heavy engineering.
  • Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical engineering drawings, symbols, and GD&T standards.
  • Hands-on familiarity with inspection instruments such as micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and CMM.
  • Understanding of quality standards such as ISO 9001, API 6D, and standard testing methodologies.

Good to Have

  • Valid ASNT / ISNT NDT Level II certifications in Visual, Penetrant, or Magnetic Particle Testing.
  • Prior experience dealing with third-party inspection agencies in the oil and gas sector.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, 5S, and Lean manufacturing principles.

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to work with an established valve components manufacturer catering to global energy sectors.
  • Professional growth and hands-on exposure to advanced manufacturing and precision inspection technologies.
  • Collaborative and quality-centric plant environment.
