Job Summary

looking for an experienced Laser Programmer to prepare and optimize CNC laser cutting programs for sheet metal components. The candidate will be responsible for drawing/DXF processing, nesting, material utilization, machine programming, production support and troubleshooting while ensuring accurate and efficient cutting.

Job description

  1. Prepare CNC laser cutting programs based on customer drawings, DXF files and production requirements.
  2. Read and interpret engineering drawings, DXF/DWG files and specifications.
  3. Perform sheet nesting to optimize material utilization and minimize scrap.
  4. Select appropriate cutting parameters based on material type, thickness and machine capacity.
  5. Generate and verify CNC programs before releasing them for production.
  6. Check part dimensions, orientation, quantity and drawing revisions before programming.
  7. Plan cutting sequences to minimize heat distortion and material deformation.
  8. Optimize lead-in, lead-out, pierce points, cutting path and common-line cutting where applicable.
  9. Coordinate with Design, Production and Quality teams regarding drawing and cutting requirements.
  10. Maintain proper program files, drawing revisions and production records.
