Quality Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated Quality Engineer to join our team in Chakan, Pune. You will be responsible for ensuring that all machined and fabricated valve components meet exact customer specifications, engineering tolerances, and international quality benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspection of valve components including balls, stems, bonnets, flanges, and seat rings.
• Interpret engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning, and tolerancing (GD&T) to verify dimensional accuracy.
• Handle precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
• Prepare and verify Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), Quality Assurance Plans (QAP), and Material Test Certificates (MTC).
• Conduct root cause analysis for non-conformances using 7 QC tools and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Coordinate stage-wise inspections with internal production teams and third-party inspection agencies (TPIA).
• Ensure compliance with ISO quality standards and customer-specific oil and gas requirements.
• Support zero-defect manufacturing initiatives through regular process audits and gauge calibration oversight.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Industrial, or Metallurgical Engineering.
• Demonstrated experience in quality control or quality assurance within valve manufacturing, precision machining, or heavy engineering.
• Sound knowledge of GD&T, engineering blueprint reading, and measurement systems.
• Familiarity with relevant standards such as API, ASME, and ISO 9001.
• Proficiency in preparing quality inspection documentation and test reports.

Good to Have

• NDT Level II certification in PT, MT, or UT.
• Hands-on experience operating CMM or vision measuring systems.
